Cricket AKA Peanuts Magoo....

Our little Cricket gave us quite the scare yesterday. When I came home from work he was throwing up. This in and of itself is not odd for Cricket as his breed is notorious for gastrointestinal problems. However, Cricket continued to throw up throughout the evening and eventually stopped walking around and his breathing became very labored. He was not his happy puppy self. Through the night his breathing continued to be short and shallow. We became increasingly concerned when he had not improved this morning and he refused to get out of bed. Our vet saw him right away and took an X--Ray. This revealed a large mass in his intestine, which we will refer to as "unidentified foreign object." The good news is, it would pass on it's own with any luck as it was not still lodged in his stomach. The bad news is, he had asphyxiated some of his vomit from earlier and it was not clogging his lungs. We are now watching for pneumonia and dehydration. Nick was able to stay home with him all day and keep a watchful eye out for any downward turns.. When I arrived home from work Mr. Cricket was not only drinking water on his own, but walking around as well! We are still watching his breathing for any signs of further problems, but we are definitely over the moon to know he will be OKAY!
