Oh Hail...

Our neighborhood made national news yesterday! We had two funnels forming directly over the neighborhood (I have never seen clouds move in such a way, very interesting) and two just north and south of our neighborhood. Hail came in four waves and the first contained golf ball sized icecubes! Luckily for us we had both cars in the garage and no damage was done to the house that we have found. The neighborhood as a whole was not as lucky, shutters were torn down, the lawns look ravaged, and every car parked on the street is going to need new windsheilds and a good dent specialist! There are some GREAT pictures on 9news.com (http://www.9news.com/news/article.aspx?storyid=139848&catid=339). We spent the first two major hail storms in the basement because our area's tornado sirens were sounding; this was when the funnels were forming ontop of and circling around us. The video and picture are from a final "mini" hail storm at about 6pm.

To Wenatchee We Go...

We went to Wenatchee, WA for a week while Nick is on leave. We got to spend some time with his family and I saw his home town for the first time. It is full of orchards and wheatlands. Very different from the mountain filled Washington I imagined. Very beautiful none-the-less. Yesterday we drove 23hrs straight through to make it back to Colorado...needless to say we will be relaxing at home today!

Educated...

I guess I have the right to call myself educated now, I graduated from college on Saturday. I am now the proud holder of a bachelor's degree from the University of Northern Colorado.

Addicted...

I ran today for the first time since March 9th (yes I know the exact day). I know this date because it was the day I lost my love, and today was the day my heart was healed and my love re-entered my life! Running! Since my toe-nail-accident I haven't been able to bear the weight load of running. Today, between finals, I hit the track and ran. I got so excited to be running again that I broke out and started sprinting!!! I only made it half a mile before I was winded and had to stop. It was amazing, I laughed out loud realizing how addicted I was and glad to have my high back! Can't wait to build back up and get into my old routine. Oh, and I finished college today, right...that little thing.

The other wonderful news I recieved today was a sort of "Washington-exchange-program" I seem to be participating in! Here's my rational...Nick is deploying (he is from WA and I am losing him) WA - 1, Kelley - 0. My friend Ashley just moved from WA back to Colorado, so it is like WA is givng me back something for what it took. WA - 1, Kelley - 1! I guess life has a way of working itself out.

Let The Countdown Begin...

It's Monday, day one of finals week here at UNC. I am so overwhelmed with all the last minute details that need to be finished. I know this week is going to fly by and I will be fine, and by Saturday I will be dressed in cap and gown, walking down the second of many aisles in the journey of life (the first being high school graduation).
It's freeing yet all too sedentary at the same time. I will have accomplished something that allows me to enter into "the real world," yet everything will remain the same. I've had a career without a college degree and now I will have one with. I'll be back in school soon enough for my Masters, so I can't celebrate being out of school forever either...
Everything changes, yet it all remains the same.
