Job Well Done...

I went into work today and my boss (direct supervisor), his boss (who oversees our department), and the BIG boss (who oversees our side of the business), all come into my space and tell me they need to talk with me. Que my profuse sweating!
Turns out they like my work, made me Employee of the Quarter. Whoo! Must be doing something right.

It's Colorado...

So, I drove to school at 6:30am, and it was blowing snow and sleet. (Sorry, no picture of this event because I was concentrating on the road!)

Around 9:30am, I get out of my first class and the sun has come out...(picture proof that there was snow that morning, I'm not crazy)

Later the same afternoon the sky is ugly and looks like a lightening show is about to begin...

The joys of Colorado weather, suppose that's why they say dress in layers.

The Grass is Always Greener...

Had to get out in the yard today and show those weeds who is boss...me! Put on quite a show for the neighbors though. My tugging away at roots that wanted to fight me every step of the way and then laughing (evil-victorious giggles) everytime one popped out of the ground. So, now the weeds are gone (minus the ones I'm guessing didn't get fully removed and will come back up soon), next we need to fill the dead patches to get it growing. We by FAR have the worst yard on our block which is embarrassing, but we are the only new home-owners, everyone else is established in their home, so I am hoping for some understanding while we get this grass in shape!

Fort Carson...

I headed down to Fort Carson yesterday to see Nick on his day off. It was good to get some time with him before he started training again today. One more week until he comes home for a bit before Fort Benning. My brother has been helping me out around the house in Nick's absence. We tried to get the sprinkler system up and running today but couldn't seem to get it to work. The whole neighborhood was out today turning on their irrigation and it was nice to get to socialize around the block.

Spring Has Sprung...

We have these three large trees behind our patio and we assumed they would spring into large green leaves that would shade our BBQ area. When I woke up yesterday I got quite the surprise and found the trees in both the front and back yard had blossomed with hundreds of white flowers. They are so beautiful! I am very happy they did not turn out to be leaved trees. All the little surprises a new house has to offer...

Birthday Weekend...

Nick had his family out this weekend...and when I say family, I mean: father, brother, sister-in-law, mother, aunt, and cousin LOL. It was a Haglund convention! We all had a BBQ Friday night for my birthday and so our families (Haglund's and Middleton's everywhere) could meet. The weather was perfect!
Saturday both families went to the opening weekend at Coors Field, Go Rockies! They beat the Padres in extra innings.
I completely dropped the ball on taking any pictures so hopefully the Haglund family will email me what they managed to capture. It was great having everyone out to Colorado.
Nick left this morning to report back to Fort Carson for two more weeks of pre-deployment training. I plan to use the time 110% devoted to school work and studying for finals...three more weeks and I am graduating!!!
